Self Select Class of 2025
Kandos High School is excited to offer the Stage 4 Self-Select Class for Year 7 and 8 students who are committed to taking responsibility for their learning and striving to achieve their personal best. This class is designed for students who are highly motivated, willing to work diligently, and ready to take on new challenges both independently and in a team.
Who should apply?
We’re looking for students who:
• Are motivated and eager to learn
• Put in sustained effort and diligence
• Work well both independently and in groups
• Want to explore and engage in complex questions and challenges
• Strive to achieve their personal best in all areas
How to apply:
Students must submit a written application, signed by a parent and endorsed by a teacher. This class is only for students who meet the selection criteria and are ready to commit to their education.

Ongoing requirements:
To stay in the Self-Select Class, students must maintain:
• Good behaviour (no more than 5 negative Sentral entries per year)
• At least 85% attendance
• Timely completion of all classwork and assessments to a satisfactory standard
Self-Select students will also be expected to participate in extra-curricular activities and support a positive classroom environment. Performance will be reviewed regularly, and students not meeting expectations may be withdrawn.
