Events
School events bring learning to life and are a huge part of what makes Kandos High School such a vibrant, supportive and connected community. They build student confidence, strengthen friendships, showcase talents and give everyone a chance to celebrate achievements, big and small. They also invite families to be part of school life, creating moments our students remember long after the year is over.
At Kandos High School, our events include:
- Orientation Days that welcome new students and help them feel at home
- Sports and Swimming Carnivals full of colour, house spirit and healthy competition
- Show Team Competitions, where our agriculture students proudly represent KHS at local shows
- Education Week Open Days and School Tours, showcasing our teaching, learning and culture
- Excursions and Incursions that extend learning beyond the classroom
- ANZAC Day Ceremonies, honouring service and sacrifice within our community
- Fundraising, Charity and Community Events that reflect the generosity and heart of our school
- Award Assemblies that recognise effort, growth, leadership and citizenship
- Graduation and End-of-Year Celebrations that mark important milestones
- P&C Meetings, where parents and carers help shape the future of our school
Every event adds to the rich story of Kandos High School and helps create the caring, inclusive environment our students thrive in.

Presentation Night
Date: Thursday, 11 December 2025
Time: 5.30pm
Presentation Night is one of the most important events on our school calendar. It’s a chance to recognise the hard work, growth and achievements of our students across the year. We come together as a school community to celebrate academic success, personal progress, leadership, effort and the many ways our students contribute to Kandos High School.
It’s also an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication of our staff and the ongoing support of our families. Presentation Night truly showcases the pride, resilience and spirit of our small country school.
KHS Swimming Carnival
Date: Friday, 13 February 2026
Time: 9am - 3pm
Our annual Swimming Carnival is always a highlight of the school year, bringing together fun, friendly competition and plenty of house spirit. Students cheer on their peers, take part in races and novelty events, and enjoy a great day in the sun with their friends and teachers.
One of the most meaningful moments of the day is our Community Charity Relay. This special event sees students, staff and community members teaming up to race for a cause, with all funds raised going directly to local charities. It’s a wonderful way to finish the carnival, celebrating teamwork, community pride and the generous spirit that makes Kandos High School unique.
If you're interested in registering a team for the Community Charity Relay, please call our Front Office on 6379 4103.
P&C meeting
Date: 5pm
Time: Tuesday, 10 February 2026
Location: Rylstone Club
Our P&C meets on Tuesday of Week 3 each term, and we’d love to see new faces at our next meeting! No RSVP is needed, just come along.
At Kandos High School, our P&C isn’t a fundraising group. Instead, it serves as a supportive voice for the school, helping strengthen communication, provide parent perspectives and advocate for the needs of our students and community. Whether you come regularly or only occasionally, your voice truly matters.
