Uniforms
To help maintain a respectful, safe and unified school environment, all students are expected to wear the correct school uniform and dress in line with our school values. Students, teachers and our P&C helped develop our school uniform to ensure it reflects our values and meets the needs of our students. Our uniform:
- meets occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity requirements
- is affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care, easy-wear fabrics
- is suitable for the full range of school activities
- is inclusive and appropriate for all body shapes
- is proudly based on our school colour: navy blue

At Kandos High School, we encourage all students to wear their uniform each day and to wear it with pride. Research shows that wearing a uniform supports a positive learning attitude, strengthens students’ sense of belonging and promotes inclusiveness. It also enhances student safety by making them easily identifiable as part of our school community.
Specific details can be found in our Uniform Guidelines and Rewards for Compliance (PDF 183KB).
Please remember that the following items are not permitted as part of the school uniform:
- Clothing that ends higher than halfway up the thigh
- Footless tights or leggings (unless worn with a navy skirt)
- Bike pants or activewear
- Bright colours, patterns or logos/insignias that are not part of the KHS uniform
- Any clothing, hats or school bags displaying offensive language or images
On mufti days, students must still follow these expectations. Inappropriate clothing, including activewear or items that do not meet length requirements, is not allowed. If students choose not to participate in mufti days, they must attend in full school uniform.
To support consistency and fairness across the school, students are expected to be in uniform at least 85% of the time. Students who do not meet this requirement may have their lunch passes revoked and may be unable to attend non-curriculum excursions.
Our uniform shop is available through our wonderful admin staff at the Front Office between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday during the school term.

Winter Uniform - As the colder months arrive, it’s important that students come to school dressed warmly and appropriately in line with our uniform expectations. Our School Uniform Shop stocks a range of winter items, including:
- Navy trackpants
- Navy chino pants
- Jumpers, hoodies and jackets
Families are welcome to purchase uniforms from other stores; however, all items must be navy blue to align with our school dress code.
Summer uniform - Our summer uniform is designed to keep students comfortable, cool and ready for learning throughout the warmer months. Kandos High School offers light, breathable shirts and school shorts, providing a practical and comfortable option for active school days.
Students are expected to wear items that meet our uniform guidelines and maintain our school colours. This helps promote a sense of pride, belonging and consistency across our school community.
Want to donate your old school uniforms?
If your child has outgrown their uniform or no longer needs certain items, we gladly welcome donations of clean, good-condition school uniforms. Donated items help support other families in our community and ensure all students have access to the clothing they need to feel comfortable and confident at school.
Uniform donations can be dropped off at the Front Office during school hours. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated.
